Sportsmanship – member who exhibits exceptional sportsmanship, courtesy to judges and show staff and helpfulness to other riders.
Work Ethic – member who exhibits exceptional work ethic, such as helping out at the show, working for their riding time or horse’s
board, dedication in training and caring for their own horse
Integrity – member who best meets the following criteria
1. Rider must display outstanding integrity when dealing with Judges, Ring Stewards and other exhibitors. Willing to enter the ring first
when no one else wants to. Leaving the ring with a smile, even if they don't win a ribbon. And most of all ready to re-enter the ring
to try again and have fun.
2. Rider who must overcome a physical challenge.
3. Riders
must compete in majority of shows (Example: 4 out of 6).
4. Riders must compete in majority of classes per division
per show (Example: 5-class division must ride in 3 or more classes).
Trainer of the Year - member trainer who has inspired their student(s) in the areas of horsemanship, showmanship and sportsmanship; who have contributed to the betterment of CJHA and the NJ horse industry; and have demonstrated special expertise in the training of horse and rider
